Cancellation & Rescheduling

This page explains how appointment changes ordinarily work. Your signed agreement and the law always come first.

Effective 28 October 2026

Free consultations

The free 20-minute consultation is free — there is never a fee for booking, changing or cancelling it.

To change or cancel a consultation, use the link in your Cal.com confirmation email. If you cannot find it, email bookings@theactivelife.ca and we will help.

Changing a paid appointment (once privately activated and agreed)

Paid sessions are not bookable on this website. The rules below apply only once paid services are privately activated and covered by your signed agreement.

With 24 hours' notice or more before a scheduled appointment, you can reschedule or cancel without a session penalty.

With less than 24 hours' notice, the session credit is ordinarily used, or a prepaid standalone appointment amount is forfeited.

If you do not attend without notice, the session credit is used or the full appointment charge applies.

One courtesy waiver

You may have one late-change courtesy waiver in any rolling six-month period, with no explanation or proof needed.

Illness, disability and safety

General illness ordinarily follows the standard rule. This is not a blanket exclusion where disability accommodation is legally required — accommodation requests are considered individually.

If travel is genuinely unsafe, for example because of severe weather, there is no charge and we will reschedule.

If Active Life cancels

If we cancel, we will restore your credit, reschedule, or refund a standalone appointment, as appropriate.

Running late

Sessions ordinarily end at their normal finish time. Arriving more than 15 minutes late without letting us know may be treated as a no-show.

Ending recurring coaching (different from appointments)

Cancelling an appointment is different from ending a recurring coaching agreement. After any initial minimum commitment, you would stop the next monthly continuation through the cancellation channel stated in your signed agreement, before the next scheduled charge.

A prepaid cycle that has already begun normally remains active, subject to your statutory rights and any accommodation.

Your statutory rights come first

Statutory cooling-off rights, consumer protection law and other mandatory rights always override this policy. For qualifying prepaid personal-development services agreements in Ontario, this includes the 10-day cooling-off cancellation right; whether a particular agreement qualifies is confirmed individually before signing.

You are never charged for services that are not actually available to you. This policy is not a blanket "no refunds" rule.
