Privacy Policy

Active Life is operated by Farhan Ahmad in Mississauga, Ontario. This page explains, in plain language, how personal information is handled.

Effective 28 October 2026

Who we are and how to reach us

Active Life is operated by Farhan Ahmad, a sole operator based in Mississauga, Ontario. Farhan is personally responsible for privacy at Active Life. We do not publish a residential or service-base street address.

For any privacy question, request or complaint, email privacy@theactivelife.ca. For general questions, email hello@theactivelife.ca or call +1 647 877 9022.

What information we collect, and why

We aim to collect only what is needed for a clear purpose:

Website visits: our hosting provider generates standard technical logs and basic cookies (such as IP address, device and browser details) to keep the site running and secure. We do not use advertising trackers on this website.

Free consultation bookings: when you book a free 20-minute consultation, Cal.com (an external scheduling service) collects the details you enter, such as your name and email address, and may collect technical information such as your IP address. The connected Google Calendar processes scheduling information so the appointment can be held; the private calendar address is never disclosed. Booking a consultation does not create a client relationship, agreement or payment.

General enquiries: if you email or call us, we use your contact details and message to respond to you.

Client information: contract, payment and coaching progress information is collected only if you become a client, through separate, restricted processes that are approved individually — never through this public website.

Readiness or health-related information is sensitive. It is collected only separately, with your consent, through restricted processes — never through this public website. The official CSEP readiness questionnaire is completed on the external provider's own site; answers are not copied into this website or its marketing systems.

This website is not a health-record system

Please do not send medical records, diagnoses or clearance letters through ordinary contact channels, email enquiries, consultation booking notes or social media.

Why we use it

To respond to enquiries, hold requested consultations, review eligibility, deliver training, prepare and manage contracts, support safety, keep required records and security, and — only if activated — recruitment.

Service providers and storage outside Canada

Some service providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws and lawful access by authorities there. We do not claim that all information stays in Canada.

Cal.com (free consultation booking): the free 20-minute consultation is booked through a link to Cal.com. When you book, Cal.com collects the details you enter and may collect technical information such as your IP address and device or browser details. Cal.com may process this information outside Canada, including in the United States.

Optional plan summary: our program pages let you plan a program, coaching frequency, term, optional session interests and a payment preference. These choices stay in your page link and are not sent to us automatically. If you tick the optional box to include your short, nonmedical plan summary, it is added to the Cal.com booking web address, so Cal.com may receive it as the booking page opens — even before you finish the booking. If you complete the booking, the notes are stored together with the name and email address you enter. You can review and edit the notes at Cal.com before submitting. Please never include health information.

Jotform (nonmedical Register Interest form): when the Register Interest form is available on this website, it is provided by Jotform. When the form is displayed or visited, Jotform may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and it collects the details you enter if you submit. Do not include health or other sensitive details. Jotform accounts of this kind use standard hosting in the United States, where information may be subject to local laws and lawful access by authorities there. Registering interest is free, does not reserve an appointment or confirm eligibility, and is not marketing opt-in. Private client onboarding is handled separately and is not part of the public website.

Program Finder: answers to the Program Finder questions stay temporarily in your browser while the page is open and are cleared when you leave or reload. They are not sent to or stored by Active Life, Cal.com or Jotform. This is separate from the optional plan summary described above.

General enquiries and Register Interest submissions are not marketing opt-in; marketing is chosen separately. Ordinary non-client enquiries are kept for up to 12 months as described below.

Payments: No payment checkout or subscription purchase is available on this website. Paid services are not sold through this site. If payments are enabled in future, the payment provider (planned: Stripe) would process payment details under its own terms.

Everfit: Everfit is a coaching delivery platform that may be used for clients only after their individual services are approved and activated. It is not used for public website enquiries or intake.

Dropbox: restricted supporting documents may be stored with Dropbox only after an independently approved secure process; it is not used for public enquiries.

Other service providers will be described here once they are actually in use.

Marketing messages are separate and optional

Booking a consultation or making an enquiry never signs you up for marketing. Marketing emails are sent only with your own separate opt-in or other lawful consent, identify Active Life, and include a working unsubscribe option.

Use of photos or media featuring you is separate and optional, and requires your own consent.

Sensitive information safeguards

Sensitive forms are restricted. Health or diagnosis details are not placed in public website content, analytics, calendar titles, URLs or public AI tools, and are never used for advertising. We apply security protections appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

How long we keep it

Ordinary non-client enquiries — including "Register Interest" submissions — are kept for up to 12 months after the last meaningful customer interaction. If the purpose ends earlier, or contact permission is withdrawn, we delete the information sooner where appropriate. Automatic or outgoing messages on their own do not restart this period.

There are narrow exceptions where information must be kept longer, such as a substantiated legal hold or a statutory requirement.

Client records, tax and payment records, sensitive abandoned intake, incident records and other statutory records may have their own separate periods. This 12-month rule reflects our operating practice; it is not a statement that any law requires it.

Access, correction and choices

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, withdraw permission to contact you about an enquiry, or ask us to delete information we no longer need (subject to legal obligations we must meet), by emailing privacy@theactivelife.ca. We will verify your identity as needed before responding.

We respond to access requests within the general 30-day limit that applies under Canada's private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA), except where the law permits an extension or exception.

You may also raise a privacy complaint with us at privacy@theactivelife.ca. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If something goes wrong

We will follow breach-response procedures and give any notifications that the law requires.
